The Perucci Master Suite – Reston, VA
This Master Suite is part of an entire 3 level townhome remodel in Reston, VA but each room deserves a showcase of its own. So, here is the best angles of this suite that came out beautifully.
The bathroom is very big. It used to have a very large, jetted tub, a small shower and a small toilet room. As you entered you had the vanity and the walk-in closet to the left with two swing doors for access.
Our client – an interior decorator – had much better plans for this space: A wall dividing wet and dry area was important to her. She also wanted a “bookcase murphy door” to replace one of the swing doors that accessed the bathroom closet. Because of the odd measurements and a duct that runs right int he middle of that closet, we had to custom-build one for her.
The existing vanity was in great shape, but the color didn’t go with the new decor. We refinished the vanity and countertop, replaced faucets and hardware.
In the wet area, a stand-alone bathtub with brushed nickel hardware, half-wall covered with textured subway tiles matching the shower tiles. The shower head got a water filter – which is a great idea for better skin and hair – a decorated half panel instead of a full glass enclosure and a low shower curb.
The 20′ x 24′ master bedroom with its beautiful high cathedral ceiling lacked a closet. We built a closet with pocket doors and recessed lights in its interior. Later a custom closet system was installed by an independent vendor contracted by our client.
A new ceiling fan with lights and remote control was also installed. She opted for carpet flooring in the bedrooms instead of the LVL which was installed throughout the house.
